The life insurance process (along with applying for a policy, getting a quote and coverage) requires underwriting, which means getting an approval for all correct data and a precise rate. During the underwriting process, the applicant will be requested to take a paramedic examination, as well as more extensive medical records from a primary physician.
A paramedic exam helps to determine one’s health status. This exam requires special skills and qualification from a paramedic examiner to gather important detailed information. The exact steps of the exam vary and depend upon the insured person’s age, health history, family history, amount of insurance, coverage and so on.
Elinext Alliance developed a new iPad app, a flexible IT solution to automate a paramedical examination process. We developed and designed an ecosystem with a powerful back-end to sync initial life insurance application data and return back a full portfolio with all paramedical exam results.
This modern iPad has smart UI that provides a convenient, step-by-step way to pass the examination and fill out all the necessary details via the app wizard. Elinext Alliance software developed for iPad can be used on field without need for Internet access. An examiner can download all the necessary information from the office and can visit applicants fully equipped with initial instructions and data for examination.
As soon as a stable Internet connection appears, the data syncs to the back-end and is made available for other participants such as administrators and supervisors. After the case is reviewed by the administration, it can be sent back to paramedical examiner’s iPad app to gather additional information until it is fully understood and completed.
After all the examination data has been gathered, an official PDF document is generated. It includes all data fields and can be signed electronically on the iPad app screen. It is a legal official document with an insured signature. The data stays secured while transferring over networks, and only the examiner’s iPad keeps the latest uncompleted and non-submitted cases. In case an iPad device is lost or stolen, the application data will be purged immediately as soon as it is reported to the administration and after the device first connection attempts to connect to the Internet.
Administration has a simple web UI to moderate the case’s data, check its status and return it for deeper examination, as well as provide specific comments for cases. An automatic sync process is configured to exchange data of cases between third parties using XMLife standard protocols.

Elinext Alliance continues to work on improvements to the software solution for an insurance company. In addition to our iPad app development, we plan to add integration with MIB Group, Inc. (MIB). The MIB is comprised of a group of U.S. and Canadian life insurance companies whose primary purpose is to detect and deter fraud that may occur when someone applies for life insurance. We are also considering an integration with physicians’ information systems to simplify the medical records exchange.
Life insurance industry is a key interest of Elinext consulting service business. We are working on CRM for general agencies with integrate with insurance companies and other interested parties.
