In the past couple of years, the online recruitment market has been experiencing considerable growth that shows no sign of going away. On the contrary, the global online recruitment market size is anticipated to reach USD 43.39 billion by 2027. The demand for online recruitment portals for job hunting rose as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, alongside the demand for other online services. With jobs getting more global by the day and remote work becoming the new normal, we were excited to take up a project that is so relevant and promising in the long term.

The client came to us with the idea of building a job search platform to enter a new area of business. The platform had to be integrated into the existing system of online recruitment and assessments in the educational industry. The users they targeted were their own former clients (mostly students, 50.000+ people), as well as individuals who are searching for a job and companies looking for candidates. Future users would, on one hand, use the platform to create multiple CVs in order to tailor their resumes to a particular job opening and, on the other hand, post job openings. The role of the platform would be to create a convenient space for both the candidates and the employers and connect them to one another by finding CVs most suitable for a given job opening. The client stated that UI/UX was to be done in-house, while development was outsourced to Elinext.
Module 1. MyData Builder
MyData Builder allows the user to create their CV with all the necessary information about themselves as candidates. This information includes contact information, education and work experience, personal and technical skills, language competencies, professional summary, and professional development. The user can also manually add any section, for example, “hobbies” or “achievements”, to their resume. The user can build their resume from scratch or import an existing CV from other resources. The import is done via the Affinda service.
MyData Builder includes:
- integration with Google API so that the user could receive location suggestions automatically;
- integration with U.S. and Canadian ONET database that contains a rich set of variables that describe work and worker characteristics, including skill requirements, that the user chooses for a position in the “Work experience” field;
- Integration with the database with Canadian and U.S. universities.
Once the user has created their first resume, they create a personal account that they can later log into and manage.
Module 2. My resumes
Once the user has utilized MyData Builder and has an account within the platform, they can go on to create multiple CVs based on the existing data that they provided previously. At any point, the user can choose to hide or expose one section of the resume or the other. They can also change the order of resume sections by using the drag-and-drop feature. In the end, the user has multiple PDF versions of their resume ready to be sent out to the companies. For every PDF, the user can choose a template with the customizable format and color that they think fits a particular position the best. They can export resumes to PDF versions through the internal service.

Before the release, Elinext employees completed manual and automated tests, end-to-end testing. There was a lot of collaboration and discussions with the client to make sure every major step is agreed on. The product was launched in February 2023. It’s a finished product that was completed on time and has fully satisfied the client.
At Elinext, we have vast experience in developing platforms similar to the described job search portal. For example, our specialists developed a platform for freelancers that was a similar success for the company. We’re looking forward to creating more projects like this and taking on new challenges in online service development.
