Among the conference contributors were Jakob Mattsson (Sweden), Teddy Kishi (Belgium), Jan Jongboom (Netherlands), Alius Petraska (Lithuania), Vitaly Friedman(Germany), Anton Nemcov (Ukraine), Vsevolod Shmyrov (Russia). The hottest topics that were highlighted during the conference included frontend latest techniques and tools, web typography, UX design and mobile UI features. Gennady Sergeenko appreciated workshop devoted to the clever tricks, useful strategies and practical techniques of responsive web design that was held by Vitaly Friedman, the editor-in-chief of Smashing Magazine. “It was saturated, full of vivid examples discussion that covered the main aspects of responsive web design and front-end strategies for scalable, resolution-independent graphics and maintainable CSS code. Vitaly presented innovative approaches to designing responsive modules such as maps, multi-level menus, tables, calendars that make the user’s interaction as efficient as possible in terms of accomplishing user goal. Special attention was emphasized on responsive websites optimization and clever patterns for better mobile UX. I also gathered some useful tips regarding SVG or scalable Vector Graphics”.

Gennady also appreciated the presentation of Alexandr Gerasimov about web typography in use. “It was useful to exchange the experience in this area and share best practices regarding various aspects of web typography and related CSS standards.

“Frontend development is an important part of any project and as a great variety of new frameworks appears each year it’s urgently important to be aware of latest front-end development trends. It was comfortable to be among English-speaking frontend developers and receive the most advanced experience from our European colleagues,” added Alexey Shliakhouski.
